Laura Rutledge had a vision. Black women, fully thriving, as their highest selves, in a space built entirely around them. Not squeezing into wellness rooms where they are an afterthought. Not seeking credibility from gazes and institutions that treat them as a quota or a campaign.
She looked around and that space did not exist. So she built it.
Lushness is the result of that vision. A home where Black women do not have to shrink, translate, or perform to belong. Where the experts are credentialed, the science is real, the culture is ours, and the conversation starts with what we actually need. Not what someone else decided we needed.
Laura is building more than a brand. She is building the wellness home Black women were never given. The podcast, the products, the education, the community, every piece of Lushness exists because she refused to wait for someone else to do it.
